Unit Funds will be used for the collective benefit of all unit members for off-duty recreational purposes as outlined in this AR 215-1.
Local – Fort Knox
$2 per Soldier per fiscal year. Allocations are requested each quarter averaged at $0.50 per soldier per quarter. Allocated is at Battalion/Company level and controlled by the Commander.
Funds do not rollover into the next calendar year - expires 31 December.
Only to be spent on Soldiers, events must be available to all Soldiers in the unit.
Common Uses: Organizational Days, Food and Beverage, Pavilion or equipment rental, bowling events, etc. These funds must be spent for the MORALE-WELFARE-RECREATION of the active duty soldier for off duty entertainment.
Restrictions: Cannot be used for uniforms, physical property over $100, mandatory work-related events/trainings, FRG functions, bottled water, or to cover tips/taxes.
Family members (and guests) may participate at the discretion of the unit members.
Must be approved by Family & MWR prior to utilization. (1 week prior to date of event)
Isolated Unit Funds & Annual Training
Fort Knox is the coordinating garrison for Isolated Unit Funds and Annual Training. Area of responsibilities are: Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana and West Virginia.
