Leesa Cross-Smith discusses her debut novel Whiskey & Ribbons, which is set in contemporary Louisville and concerns the death of a police officer, which proves to be a requiem for marriage, friendship and family. Her short story collection Every Kiss a War was a A PEN Open Book Award Nominee and a finalist for both the Flannery O'Connor Award for Short Fiction and Iowa Short Fiction Award.
