Gold Star Mother's Day is observed on the last Sunday in September (September 29, 2019. Fort Knox will host their event Sept. 28). Gold Star Mother's Day recognizes and honors the mothers of a son or daughter lost during their service with the U.S. Armed Forces. Each year this event is held to publicly express love and sorrow for Gold Star Mothers and their families.
*The Gold Star is a symbol of a loved one lost in combat.
