Due to inclement weather, the Kids Fishing Derby hosted by VFW Post 10281 on Saturday, June 1, 2024 has been cancelled. The health and safety of our children and families is our number one priority. Please check back for updates about future plans, events, and information.
Cast your line and reel in the fun at the Free Kids Fishing Derby hosted by VFW Post 10281!
Come out to Camp Carlson for this amazing event for young anglers. This day is full of excitement and thrills as your child casts their lines and reel in their catch. A safety briefing will be given at 9:45 am followed by the fishing starting at 10:00 am. All anglers should come with their own fishing equipment. The VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) Post 10281 will have a limited supply of loner poles for use.
Don't worry about bringing a lunch, there is one provided for all participants. Thanks to the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) Post 10281, each child that participates will receive a tackle box, fishing pole and trophy to take home at the end of the ceremony. This is a great opportunity for your child to learn about nature, conservation, and the importance of our Veterans' sacrifices.

- Limited to the first 350 children
- For ages 15 & under
- MUST PRE-REGISTER (There will be NO day-of registration)
- Registration Form and Waiver found here!
- Pick up and drop off registrations at Sadowski Center Monday - Friday 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. or email vfwpost10281@gmail.com by May 31st
- Check-in is from 8:30 am to 9:30 am
