Lifeguarding Class - Session 1 of 2

Prerequisite In-Water Pretest:
Participants must be at least 15 years old and able to complete the following:
- 300 yard continuous swim (front crawl/breaststroke), demonstrating breath control and rhythmic breathing
- two minute tread (using legs only)
- complete a timed, deep-water brick retrieval event within 1 minute, 40 seconds
You must pass the In-Water Pretest at Anderson Aquatics Center prior to close of business on Thursday, January 4th.
In-Water Training Sessions
- Session 1: January 7, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
- Session 2: January 21, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
A portion of the class will be completed online. You will receive the link for the online portion of the class after completing the in-water pretest.
Participants must attend both days of the training session they registered for and successfully complete a skills test and written exam to receive certification. Any class conflicts may be discussed with the instructor and approved prior to class. Certification is through the American Red Cross and is valid for two years.
Cost
Cost of Lifeguard Training is $150, paid at the time of registration.
