This event will occur on Wednesday May 18th at 11am and 4:30pm!
Matthew Rector, Fort Knox Historic Preservation Specialist, presents a rare guided walking tour of St. Patrick’s and the Fort Knox Post Cemeteries. The tour will include information about prominent military and local historical figures buried in the cemeteries as well as why the Post Cemetery is designated a National Shrine Standard Cemetery. Participation is limited for this tour of hallowed ground.
How many people can participate?
- Each tour is limited to 20 people. Participants should only register for one tour.
Is my child allowed to sign up?
- Children of appropriate age and understanding may participate.
Where will the tour start?
- Participants will meet in the Cemetery parking lot. St Patrick’s and the Fort Knox Post Cemetery are directly across from each other. The parking lot fits 17 vehicles along with 2 handicap-accessible spaces. Please be present at tour start time.
What happens if there’s inclement weather and the tour has to be canceled?
- We will do our best to contact all participants and reschedule the tours on another date.
Is there a cost for this tour?
- No, the tour is free to all participants.
Who is allowed to participate in the tour?
- Because of space limitations, only those who sign up in advance may participate. Registration is open to the general public.
